Rachel Dunagin, MD
Dr. Arash Tirandaz, a highly qualified and experienced internist, is the proud founder of Internal Medicine Associates of Plano and the founder and CEO of our practice. He boasts a board certification in internal medicine, and it is with regret that he must inform the public that he is not accepting new patients at this time.
Raised in Galveston, Texas, Dr. Tirandaz attended Ball High School before his family fled the Islamic Revolution in Iran to seek refuge in the United States in 1978. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and later a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. Dr. Tirandaz then returned to Galveston to attend the University of Texas Medical Branch where he received his medical degree in 1993. He honed his skills in internal medicine as a postgraduate trainee at the University of Alabama in Birmingham before embarking on a successful private practice in Plano in 1996.
As an active member of the Baha'i Faith in Plano, Dr. Tirandaz resides in the area with his family.
With an unwavering energy and a deep passion for patient-centered care, Dr. Chandra Brown finds immense fulfillment in her role as a family medicine physician. "The knowledge that I have changed someone's life for the better is truly reward enough," she says.
Dr. Brown received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before pursuing her medical education and residency training at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee. During her time as a medical student, she was a highly active participant in various committees and held the esteemed position of president for the school's chapter of the Student National Medical Association, earning top awards for their exceptional efforts in community service. As a resident, she served as the residency liaison to the Shelby County Chapter of the Tennessee Family Practice Association, and was appointed as a delegate to both statewide and national gatherings.
Since relocating to the North Dallas area in 1999, Dr. Brown has established herself as a leading primary care physician, first practicing in Flower Mound and Lewisville before joining Internal Medicine Associates of Plano in 2008. Her commitment to her community extends beyond her medical practice, as she is actively involved in various social organizations that strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need, whether it be through providing clothing for the homeless, furnishings and clothing for battered women, or uplifting and educating children.
Many years Dr. Brown was named one of the Top Doctors in Dallas, Texas in Family Medicine by US News and World Report and Castle Connolly, an honor bestowed upon only the top 1% of physicians in the United States. She particularly relishes her work in primary care, where she has the opportunity to develop long-lasting relationships with her patients and their families.
Dr. Brown currently resides in Frisco with her husband, Dean, and their two children..
Dr. Ami Shah is a dedicated practitioner of Family Medicine, committed to providing ongoing, comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families. With a board certification in Family Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her patients.
Having grown up in India and received her medical education at Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad, Dr. Shah's internship in rural India provided her with a unique perspective on a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. She further honed her skills and expertise with a residency in Family Medicine at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, and a Geriatric fellowship at Sparrow Health System/Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan.
A strong advocate for preventive health care for women, Dr. Shah is passionate about utilizing her training in Geriatrics to address the complex conditions associated with aging. She practiced medicine in Michigan for seven years before relocating to Texas in 2010, where she continues to care for her patients with compassion and dedication.
In her personal time, Dr. Shah enjoys painting, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two children. She is thrilled to raise her family in the Plano community and considers it a privilege to practice medicine in the same community.
Dr. Rachel Dunagin is a proud Texan, having been born and raised in Dallas and a graduate of Lake Highlands High School. With a passion for the field of medicine, she went on to earn her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science with honors from Texas A&M University, followed by her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. Dunagin's expertise in Internal Medicine was honed through her residency at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, where her exceptional medical skills earned her the accolades of Teaching Resident of the Year from UT Southwestern Medical School, the Presbyterian Emergency Room Resident Award, and her election to the Resident's Council. Her commitment to service is evident through her participation in community health screening fairs and her life-changing medical mission trip to the rugged mountains of Guatemala.
Before joining Internal Medicine Associates of Plano, Dr. Dunagin maintained a private practice in Dallas, specializing in preventative medicine and the treatment of conditions such as hypertension, migraines, asthma, and cholesterol disease. What she cherishes most about her practice is the personal connection she makes with her patients and their families, as evidenced by the testimonial of one of her patients who wrote, “I wish to thank you for all the kindnesses shown to me. Mostly I want to thank you for listening and truly empathizing. Thank you for caring and being a ‘real’ doctor.”
In addition to her medical pursuits, Dr. Dunagin's faith plays an important role in her life, and she actively serves her community through her involvement at Chase Oaks Church, where she has held leadership positions in various ministry groups, including the Women's Bible Study, MOM's Ministry, and Life Hurts God Heals. She lives in Dallas with her lawyer husband, Christopher, and their daughter, as well as two miniature dachshunds.
Dr. Jessica Huerta has nurtured a lifelong passion for medicine since her early teenage years, when she was encouraged by her parents to pursue her interest. She is a board-certified physician in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, who has devoted her career to providing care to patients of all ages and treating a wide range of medical conditions.
As a native Texan from San Antonio, Dr. Huerta completed her undergraduate degree at Baylor University in Waco before moving on to the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010.
To further hone her skills, Dr. Huerta pursued a residency in Family Medicine at Methodist Charlton in Dallas, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Afterwards, she completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA, where she had the opportunity to work with Division 1 collegiate teams, the Erie Otters of the OHL, and the Erie Bayhawks of the NBA D League. Through her fellowship, she developed expertise in sports injury evaluation and treatment, ultrasound evaluation, injection guidance, and the use of biologic injections such as PRP.
Since 2014, Dr. Huerta has been practicing medicine in Texas, and has been serving the DFW area since 2016. Before joining Internal Medicine Associates of Plano, she served as a team physician for the Dallas Rattlers lacrosse team and the Texas Revolution arena football team.
Outside of work, Dr. Huerta enjoys spending time with her husband and children, as well as pursuing her hobbies of reading, quilting, and crocheting. She is also a student of the Brazilian martial art form Capoeira.
Dr. Mary Hammack, a highly esteemed physician, joins our team from her previous role in private practice at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. With over two decades of experience in general Internal Medicine, she provides comprehensive medical care for adults of all ages.
A proud alumna of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Dr. Hammack earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1988. During her first year of medical school, she was honored with the Wallace McNutt Award for outstanding performance in Gross Anatomy and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. In addition to her rigorous coursework, she also served as a Teaching Assistant, sharing her knowledge and passion for anatomy with aspiring healthcare professionals.
Following her medical training, Dr. Hammack underwent postgraduate training at both the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, where she honed her skills and became board certified in Internal Medicine in 1995. Re-certified in 2005, Dr. Hammack has consistently been recognized as one of Dallas's best Geriatric physicians by her peers.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Hammack is a dedicated community servant and has volunteered her time at the Collin County Adult Clinic, treating patients through Project Access, a Dallas County Medical Society program for the working uninsured. As a member of various medical organizations, including the Texas Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Dr. Hammack stays current with the latest advancements in her field.
A native Dallasite, Dr. Hammack received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from Texas A&M University, where she was elected to Beta Beta Beta and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. In her personal life, Dr. Hammack is a proud member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Community and a loving owner of two Boston Terriers, Penelope and Pronto. She approaches each patient with a compassionate and caring demeanor, treating them as if they were her own family.
Dr. Luke Sorrell, a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, hails from Coppell, Texas where he spent his formative years. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Abilene Christian University, where he excelled in Biochemistry and earned Summa Cum Laude honors. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Texas at Houston in 2017. Upon completion of his medical education, Dr. Sorrell returned to the DFW metropolitan area and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Sorrell served as a hospitalist and was part of the procedure team at the hospital. He also took an active role in educating residents and medical students. Despite his love for hospital-based medicine, Dr. Sorrell felt a deeper calling towards primary care and made the transition to outpatient medicine. After a year of practicing primary care with Texas Health Physicians Group in McKinney, Texas, he joined IMAP in Plano, bringing him closer to home and family.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Sorrell is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing with his daughter. He and his wife, who have a daughter and a golden retriever, reside in the Castle Hills community and are active members of Gracepoint Church in Coppell.
Dr. Sorrell was drawn to the field of Internal Medicine and Primary Care because of the complexity it offers. He believes that being a great internist requires exceptional diagnostic skills and a strong ability to listen to patients and piece together the information to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. He believes that clear and prompt communication is crucial in any doctor-patient relationship, and always strives to tailor treatment plans to each individual patient's unique needs. With expertise in a wide range of areas, including preventive medicine, diabetes management, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, asthma, osteoporosis, weight loss, and hormone replacement therapy, among others, Dr. Sorrell is equipped to provide comprehensive care. He also embraces a functional medicine approach and has access to advanced testing options, such as stool analysis, nutritional assessments, food allergy testing, and genetic testing.

Dr. Swetha Kadali is a board-certified physician specializing in general internal medicine for adult patients. She operates out of our Frisco location, where she is dedicated to promoting preventative care and managing chronic illnesses to prevent complications.
With a diverse background that includes living in India, Oman, and the United States, Dr. Kadali has a unique appreciation for different cultures and customs. Her passion for the medical field was fueled by her experiences volunteering in a hospital during her high school years.
Dr. Kadali received her medical education from the Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences in Telangana, India, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital in New York. During her residency, she was exposed to a culturally and socioeconomically diverse patient population, which honed her skills in treating and managing a wide range of illnesses. She also gained valuable insights into the importance of cultural competence in developing patient-specific treatment plans and goals. After her residency, Dr. Kadali worked as a hospitalist and primary care physician at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, AR.
Now residing here with her husband and daughter to be closer to her family, Dr. Kadali is eager to begin caring for patients and building long-lasting relationships with them as they embark on their journeys to good health.
In her leisure time, Dr. Kadali enjoys spending time with her family, singing, participating in cultural events, gardening, and cooking.
Dr. Sima Kavand, a board-certified internist and an international fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, she works at our West Frisco location (off FM 423 and Lebanon). She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise, honed from her medical education at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, her residency in Iran, and her postdoctoral research associate work at the University of Minnesota.
Her expertise in both internal medicine and dermatology make her an invaluable asset to our practice. She understands the interplay between internal diseases and their manifestation as skin disorders, and her interests in chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and geriatrics are sure to benefit our patients. With her caring and attentive approach, she takes the time to understand each patient's unique health needs and works closely with them to develop personalized treatment plans to help them achieve their health goals.
Prior to relocating to the DFW area with her husband and two children, Dr. Kavand served as a dermatology consultant and was highly regarded for her expertise. Here at our practice, we are proud to have her join our team and provide the highest level of care for our patients. When she is not practicing medicine, Dr. Kavand enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and swimming.
Dr. Asma Sayeed is a highly qualified Family Medicine physician who has recently joined our group. She provides exceptional care to patients at our Frisco office.
As a dedicated primary care physician, Dr. Sayeed is committed to staying at the forefront of medical advancements and incorporating the latest technology and research into her practice. She places great importance on building long-term relationships with her patients, allowing her to create personalized care plans that address both short-term and long-term health goals.
After earning her medical degree from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India in 2010, Dr. Sayeed completed her residency at Advocate Lutheran Family Medicine Program in Park Ridge, Illinois. She is board certified in Family Medicine and boasts over a decade of experience in the field.
Born in Doha, Qatar, Dr. Sayeed's passion for medicine was ignited through her participation in a volunteer group that provided vaccinations to underprivileged communities. She has since dedicated her career to serving others and improving the lives of her patients.
Dr. Sayeed lives in Frisco, TX with her husband and children. In her free time, she is an avid volunteer and strives to provide excellence in all aspects of her life.
Dr. Stefanie L. Addington is a highly-regarded clinical endocrinologist who specializes in the treatment of endocrine, diabetes, and metabolic disorders. With a board certification in internal medicine, she is equipped to provide a comprehensive and compassionate approach to her patients' health. Her practice is based out of our Frisco office, located near the Dallas Tollway and south of Main Street.
As a native Texan, Dr. Addington has a deep understanding of the local community and has dedicated her career to helping her patients achieve optimal health. Dr. Melissa Philip, a proud native of Dallas, Texas, is a board-certified family physician who has always been drawn to the medical field. She was inspired by her mother's work as a nurse, making home visits, and this piqued her interest in medicine. During her college years at Baylor University in Waco, she grew increasingly interested in the osteopathic philosophy of medicine, which emphasizes a holistic view of the patient and recognizes the body's natural healing ability in conjunction with modern medical treatments.
With a deep understanding that no organ in the body operates independently and that the way the body functions as a whole is crucial to understanding disease processes, Dr. Philip went on to pursue her medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She then completed her residency training in Family Medicine at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Philip returned to Dallas and joined the primary care team at Baylor Scott and White. In the summer of 2021, she entered private practice with Internal Medicine Associates of Plano, where she is able to provide personalized, compassionate care to her patients. Her areas of special interest include preventive care, women's health, and the management of chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and thyroid disease.
In her free time, Dr. Philip enjoys cooking, going on walks with her family, tending to her garden, and taking road trips when possible.
Dr. Joe Lin, a highly skilled and compassionate medical professional, brings a diverse background and a deep commitment to holistic wellness to our medical clinic. Born in San Jose, CA, but practically raised in Texas, Dr. Lin's journey in medicine began with fond memories of family road trips and enjoying Blue Bell ice cream at the age of 4. He graduated from LV Berkner High School in Richardson, TX and pursued his passion for biology, earning a BS degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr. Lin worked as an EMT in Dallas, TX, gaining valuable experience in emergency medicine. Seeking further knowledge and growth, he ventured to Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, CO, where he fell in love with the great outdoors and developed a passion for skiing.
In 2020, Dr. Lin completed his residency in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo. Following his residency, he spent two years at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, CA, working closely with patients to manage their chronic conditions. Driven by his desire to be closer to his family and friends, Dr. Lin returned to the DFW area and dedicated a year to a private practice, focusing on chronic condition management, mental health, and hormone optimization.

Dr. Kiona Coleman is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who recently joined Internal Medicine Associates of Plano. She attended Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock and completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Tyler. Dr. Coleman was drawn to the field of medicine with a strong desire to serve underprivileged areas and educate people about their health.
She had the opportunity to fulfill this calling during her six-year tenure at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, a rural health center, where she served as the Lead Physician and Medical Director. During her time at CHRISTUS, Dr. Coleman managed a patient panel of over 1,500 individuals, collaborating closely with specialists and hospitalists to ensure continuity of care for patients of all ages. Her unwavering commitment was to "provide the best care" to all her patients.
Dr. Coleman is passionate about establishing strong doctor-patient relationships, describing the ideal connection as a partnership where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns in a nonjudgmental atmosphere. She believes that truly getting to know her patients and expanding her medical knowledge are the most rewarding aspects of her job.
In her free time, Dr. Coleman enjoys reading, dancing, and traveling. She also has a deep passion for American muscle cars.
Laura Harger hails from the vibrant city of Carrollton, Texas and is now a proud member of the Internal Medicine Associates of Plano team, where she works from the Plano office. With a background in Zoology-Biomedical Science, Laura's passion for the medical field took root during her time at the University of Oklahoma, where she was a dynamic participant in various campus organizations. Additionally, her summers were spent volunteering and working at Camp John Marc, a retreat for children with chronic illnesses and disabilities, further solidifying her dedication to healthcare.
After completing her Bachelor's degree, Laura moved to Gainesville, Florida to pursue her Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the prestigious University of Florida - the first university to have a School of Physician Assistant Studies within its College of Medicine. During her training, she was able to gain hands-on experience working with esteemed physicians in a variety of top-notch facilities throughout Florida and in Plano, including health departments, homeless shelters, the Veterans’ Hospital, and Tampa General Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center.
Laura now resides in Prosper with her husband, two sons, and their furry companions. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and brings a patient-centric approach to healthcare, combining preventive medicine, acute and chronic disease management, and education on healthy lifestyles. Neelam Pingle is a highly qualified and board-certified nurse practitioner who brings valuable skills to our clinic. Growing up in culturally rich India with a traditional, morally centered family, Neelam worked as an optometrist for three years after receiving her education from Dr. D. Y. Patil University. She then completed a two-year fellowship at L.V Prasad Eye Hospital, where she managed a variety of eye diseases and vision problems.
Upon moving to the United States, Neelam desired to expand her knowledge in disease management as well as health promotion and prevention. She obtained her second bachelor's degree in Nursing and graduated from Oakland University in Michigan. She continued her education and earned a Master of Science in Nursing, ultimately graduating as a Family Nurse Practitioner from USU in California. Neelam has since gained experience working in both primary and urgent care settings.
Neelam holds patient care in high regard and believes that treating people with kindness and respect goes a long way. She is passionate about providing holistic care and ensures that patients' physical, mental, and spiritual health are considered when addressing their wellness needs. Neelam continues to practice this value system in her work as a board-certified nurse practitioner and member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Outside of work, Neelam enjoys spending time with her family and pursuing calligraphy. She currently resides in Frisco with her husband and two children.
Nawal Joulani Suleman is a local Texan who has spent the majority of her life in Arlington, TX, with the exception of the 3 years she lived and studied in Jerusalem. She is a caring and well-trained professional in the field. Nawal attended UTA, where she earned an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Business Administration. She further pursued her education at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW), obtaining a Physician Assistant degree from one of the top 5 PA schools nationwide!
In the interim between her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Nawal spent a few years teaching Preschool and Kindergarten. She is committed to helping her patients comprehend their medical diagnosis and treatment. She firmly believes that the best treatment plan is one that is mutually agreed upon by the patient and the provider. Nawal's goal is to collaborate with her patients in order to create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their lifestyle, beliefs, and goals. She places great value on establishing a personal connection with her patients.
Nawal is passionate about providing personalized care that prioritizes wellness and preventative medicine, with a focus on empowering her patients to be their best. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant, a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and values the meaningful connections she makes with her patients.

Currently residing in Irving with her husband and daughter, Nawal enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family and friends outside of medicine.
Kaitlyn Doll embodies a compassionate, dedicated spirit honed through her experiences across Texas. A proud Longhorn alum with a Bachelor's in Biology and Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin, she cultivated her passion for patient care during her tenure at a pediatric office in Austin. It was there that she realized the significance of primary care and the importance of forging enduring connections with patients.
Her commitment to service is evident in her extensive volunteer work, particularly at Dell Children's hospital's blood and cancer center, where she contributed weekly, accumulating over 1,000 volunteer hours. This dedication reflects her unwavering empathy and commitment to making a meaningful impact in healthcare.
Continuing her education at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Kaitlyn pursued a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Her training took her across the diverse landscapes of Texas, serving rural communities during clinical rotations. This experience broadened her perspective and deepened her understanding of varied healthcare needs.
Returning to Dallas, Kaitlyn eagerly reconnects with her roots and family, embracing the opportunity to foster strong patient relationships within her community. She champions personalized care, emphasizing communication and patient education to empower individuals in their healthcare decisions.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Kaitlyn finds joy in exploring Dallas's culinary scene, traveling, and cherishing moments with her faithful companion, Kobe. Her warmth, expertise, and genuine care shine through in her approach to both her patients and her life outside the medical realm.
